The official start of the PIBS 20th Anniversary Celebration will take place at the UMMA, located off of State St. on central campus. The Welcome Reception provides opportunity to meet new people and network with friends and colleagues. Hors d'oeuvres and a buffet dinner will be served. RSVP required within event registration.

PIBS at 20: A Celebration of 20 Years of Biomedical Education at Michigan Medicine
10:15am - noon, Rackham Building, 4th Floor Amphitheater
Remarks by Dr. David Engelke, Dr. Scott Barolo, and Dr. Mary O'Riordan on the past, present, and future of PIBS. Also at this point, alumni will hear about the excellent work in research, teaching and service being done by current PIBS students, and the program will present an award to 14 outstanding students (one per program).
Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) Fair
Noon - 2:00pm, Rackham Building, 4th Floor Assembly Hall
This will highlight some of the new happenings in our community including the more than 15 student groups that current PhD students participate in. Learn about the support that exists for PhD students from OGPS staff dedicated to Student Success, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Career & Professional Development, and Health & Wellness. Lunch will be served.
PIBS Career Journeys
2:00 - 3:30pm, Rackham Building, 4th Floor Amphitheater
OGPS Career & Professional Development will welcome alumni to give short talks highlighting their career trajectories.
A networking session for current students and postdoctoral fellows to meet alumni will follow in the East Conference room.
Poster & Networking Session
3:30 - 5:30pm, Rackham Building, Assembly Hall
Current PhD students and alumni are invited to present posters on their research. Refreshments will be served. Alumni who wish to display a poster should contact Kevin Calhoun (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve their space.
